What are soy candles?
Soy wax is a safe alternative to paraffin wax. Made from soybeans it is a safe, renewable resource. Soy candles last three times longer than petroleum-based candles and have an incredible scent throw with virtually no black soot.
Are soy candles really 100% natural?
Soy wax candles are crafted from natural soy beans. That part of the candle is 100% natural. Once dyes and fragrance oils are added, the candle is no longer 100% natural as they both contain chemicals.
Floriosa candles are made with 100% natural soy wax and contain no unnecessary chemical additives such as UV light reflectors and chemical wax stabilizers. Our soybean wax contains no paraffin and therefore no petroleum by-products. Our fragrance and essential oils are non-diluted, full strength scents specifically formulated for use in soy candle wax.
Are fragrant candles a health hazard?
Soy candles do not put your health at risk because they do not release the toxins that paraffin candles emit. There are at least seven toxins in paraffin candle wax, including benzene, an affirmed carcinogen. (Paraffin is created as a by-product of diesel fuel refining). Floriosa candles are made from biodegradable soy wax with 100% cotton and paper wicks. Our high quality fragrance oils are a combination of natural essential oils and aromatics which conform to IFRA/RIFM International Standards, contain no heavy metals (such as lead) and are free of animal derived ingredients.
Do your wicks contain lead?
No. Floriosa candles are made with 100% cotton and paper wicks.
How many hours burn time are Floriosa candles?
Floriosa candles have an approximate burn time of 50 hours. For maximum burn time keep the wick trimmed to 5mm for the life of your candle, Always allow wax to melt evenly across the surface to avoid ‘tunnelling’, Do not burn for more than 4 hours at a time.
What’s the difference between Floriosa candles and other companies’ “soy blend” candles?
Some candle companies consider their candles to be soy candles even though they are blended with paraffin wax. We urge you to thoroughly read the label, and ask if your candles are made from 100% natural wax.
Floriosa candles are made from 100% all natural waxes, which are soy and vegetable waxes.
Why are some Floriosa candles slightly darker in colour?
In keeping with our desire to create as natural a candle as possible, we have chosen not to add artificial color to our wax. Some essential oils are slightly darker and will add a pale yellow tint to that particular wax.?
How do I get the best results from my candle?
Before lighting your candle trim the wick to approximately 5mm. Keep the wick trimmed to this size for the life of your candle. Do not allow any wick trimmings to fall into the wax pool. Burn for 1-3 hrs to allow wax to melt evenly across the surface and create the maximum fragrance throw. Do not burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a time. Never leave a burning candle unattended or near a draft.
